June 10-14, 17-20 and July 8-11
Kendall likes to stay busy, like really busy. She's always asking me what we're doing. And if we don't have anything going on, she wants go to places or play with friends. She's the opposite of Logan and Taylor, who would rather stay home, organize their Yu-gi-oh cards, or watch tv.
So she had 3 camps this summer. The first one was called The Greatest Show, which was basically a musical theater camp. Laura had asked several girls in the ward if they wanted to participate with Layla. I guess everyone had something going on that week, except for us. On the last day of camp, the kids performed for the parents. Kendall told me that she had a surprise for me, and I guessed it had something to do with the performance.
The kids sang a few songs, including one from High School Musical and a couple from The Greatest Showman. Then Kendall came out with the microphone in her hand and sang a couple of lines from the song This is Me. It was during the slow part of the song, so everyone froze in place while she was singing, which was awesome because the focus was 100% on her. She did awesome! I was so dang proud of her. She later told me that everyone in her age group, except Layla who is super shy, auditioned for the part, but that she got it because she had the best voice :-) I couldn't agree more.
Kendall also did a tumbling camp with Rindy, but I don't have pictures because there was no performance.
Then she did an art camp, where she learned different ways to produce art, including paint, crayons, and chalk, etc. They had a gallery for the parents on the last day.
With all that, Kendall actually only made it to 2 summer movies, the very first and the very last. the rest of us continued to go every week, so we saw at least 5, I think. For $7 per person and 10 movies all summer, it was still totally worth it.
