Logan & Taylor's 12th Birthday

My babies, my first-born babies, are 12! How is this even possible?!?

Because their birthday fell on a Saturday, we were able to celebrate all day! We started off with some Eggstasy food delivery.

The boys then opened up some gifts. By the way, it is so hard to shop for 12 year-old boys. They didn't even want anything. Taylor had outgrown his golf clubs, so he got a new set. Logan got some books and video games.

We then took some of their church friends, school friends, and cousins to an Escape Room. The boys had to rob a casino and escape without getting caught. There was a lot of math involved. Extra credit?

We then brought the boys back to our house for some cake.

We finished off the day going to Fogo De Chao. I think this might be the 3rd year in a row?

I think the boys had a good day. I mean, look at those smiles. They're such good boys. I'm not too worried about them. They'll make good choices and succeed in life.

First Day of School

First day of Kindergarten!

First day of 5th grade.

First day of 6th grade (and last first day of elementary school).

First day of 6th grade (and last first day of elementary school), too.

Also, first day of no kids at home for 7 hours straight in almost 12 years! Freedom!!!

Last Days of Summer

Playdate with Everly

Playdate with Everly and Kinsley

Diamond by number, my new favorite pastime.

Playdate with Baya and Viena.

Alexis officially made it to Sparkle, the Motivating Movements Company.
Her entire team is there now + 6 new girls, for a total of 14 girls.

Ellie did Alexis' hair in Utah and Alexis refused to take it out for 3 weeks.

Meet Your Teacher

Kindergarten, 5th grade, and 6th grade!

Alexis got Mrs. Guerrero for Kinder, and so did Juniper! Yay! Alexis was excited to know at least one person in her class.

Kendall was assigned to Mrs. Wood for 5th grade. None of her really good friends are in her class, but she still gets to see them at recess. Our neighbor Aria is in her class, and Kendall was kind of excited about that.

And Taylor is in Ms. Dalton's class, which she requested and is the best thing ever. She knows Taylor. She gets Taylor. She might be the only teacher in the entire school to know how to handle Taylor, and I love her for it. I think Taylor is going to grow tremendously this year. I'm excited.

And Logan is in Mrs. Ryle's classroom. Since there's only one 6th grade CATS class at Ryan, he got to stay with the same kids who were in his 5th grade class, and most who were in his 4th and 3rd grade classes, too. Like his friends Trenton and Lilian, who have been in his class for the 4th year in a row now.

I don't know how Covid is going to affect this new school year, but we're starting the year with no mask mandate, which is great in my opinion. I just hope we can continue with a semi-normal year. The desks will probably continue to be 6 feet apart, but that's a small price to pay in comparison to all the things these kids have had to endure this last year and a half. These kids need to be in school. Life needs to go on.

Utah Part 2 & 3

Part 1 was when we all stayed in Utah. Part 2 was when William and I were there for less than 24 hours and the kids stayed for an entire week. And Part 3 was when we came back for less than 24 hours to get the kids back home.

Part 2: We ate Hawaiian food in Layton and got ice cream. We also watched UFC 264 on the big screen. I freaking love watching McGregor fight. He's so entertaining to watch.

Part 3: The girls had gone to the puppy store a couple of times, so they wanted me to come with them and see little Jones. He sure was a cutie, and I'm pretty sure he got adopted that same day because there was a woman waiting to hang out with him and she was clearly head over heels for him. They connected, bonded, whatever you wanna call it, right off the bat. It was a match made in heaven. We also went back to Sweet Rolled Tacos because that place is the bomb!
