I want to teach my kids the true meaning of Christmas. I want them to know that this holiday season is about Christ's birth. It's not about receiving; it's about giving. It's about being thankful for our blessings and paying it forward. So we've been doing the 12 days of service.
1. Shoebox for a child. The shoebox is filled with coloring things, toys, and toiletries.
2. Dinner for someone. I made a shepherd's pie, but I forgot to take a picture before delivering it, so this is the best I could do for a picture.
3. Cookies and hot chocolate for the mailman.
4. Cards and treats. We hand delivered these treats with our Christmas cards for our Ohio friends.
5. Dinner for someone. We delivered this bag filled all the ingredients for a simple dinner.
6. Vending machine. We taped a envelope filled with money on a vending machine.
7. Carts. We helped put carts back at Walmart. It was cooooooold.
8. Goodwill. We dropped off some bags filled with baby clothes and toys to Woodwill.
9. We gave food to a homeless person.
10. We dropped off a random gift to someone who needed extra love.
11. We taped an envelope filled with coins on a parking meter downtown.
12. We watched a friend's children so that she could get some relaxing time to herself.
