Billy's birthday - no pictures

I gotta admit I feel like a pretty lame wife right now. Billy turned 30 yesterday (yes, the big 30), and I have NO pictures as a record of that special day. It's almost like it never happened, which in some way, I'd bet Billy wishes it didn't or wouldn't. So I'm gonna try to describe the day in such a way that my words become like pictures when you read them.
The day started out like any other - Billy woke up, the kids and I were still snoozing, and he went to work. Throughout the day, I sent him a few messages and pictures to remind him that he was in our thoughts. When he came home, we ran over to him and showered him with hugs and kisses - just like any other day. After he got comfortable, we gave him a few small presents and then, thanks to Paul and LeiLani's willingness to watch Logan and Taylor, Billy and I were able to go to a nice restaurant and enjoy each other's company. We went to Alba, a one of a kind fancy resturant in Des Moines East Village. Billy ordered Beef Carppicio and I ordered Witer Bruschetta for our appetizers. For the main course I ordered Chive Potato Gnocchi and Billy ordered Sweet Potato Gnocchi. As usual, Billy prefered what I ordered from what he ordered, so he ate his whole meal plus a third of mine... the usual. And for dessert, we shared a Chocolate Lava Cake with buttermilk ice cream, which the waiter was nice enough to put a candle on.
When we walked into Paul and LeiLani's appartment, Logan and Taylor barely noticed us. They were having so much fun with their cousin Kai that they probably wouldn't have cared if we had been gone a few more hours. I love having family around. And I love that Logan and Taylor have a cousin that is so close in age. We will sure miss them when we move in a few months.
