Zoo lights

After Alexis' TinyCo Christmas Party, it was only 7 PM, so we decided to go see the Christmas lights at the zoo. I thought we could drive through, but after we got there we found out they only do that on certain nights... so William and I took turns carrying Alexis on our shoulders (she didn't have shoes). And thankfully it wasn't too cold because none of us had brought jackets (except Berkley). In fact, I was wearing pajamas. I think the only reason I got away with wearing pajamas at the zoo was because it was the Christmas season. No one even looked at me weird.

TinyCo Christmas Party

Somehow, I got talked into hosting the TinyCo Christmas Party at the house... Not even sure how that happened... At least William was cool with it.

When the girls first got there, it was only 4:30, so I'd waited on ordering the pizza. Instead, the girls jumped on the trampoline. I reassured the moms that the trampoline could handle 8 4-year-olds because it had handled 12 8-to-11-year-olds the previous weekend.

The girls then ate pizza and decorated sugar cookies. While the girls were decorating their cookies, I was pouring homemade hot chocolate for the hot chocolate bar. Unfortunately I ran out and rushed in an attempt to make more, which was a bad idea because those last 4 cups were way too chocolatey. On the bright side, Kendall had stayed to help and her friend Berkley was there, too. They loved helping out with the little girls. Future babysitters :-)

The girls then went inside to open up their stocking from their buddy. They eat got some fuzzy socks and scrunchies or big bow. Miss Ashley was there, too, and she gave each girl a big black bow with their name on it as well as a picture of herself with each girl. The look on Alexis' face when she saw the picture was priceless. She was sooo happy. Not gonna lie, I don't think she was that excited about any other present that she received over Christmas. And it goes to show that the best gifts aren't necessarily the most expensive ones. She carried that picture around the entire rest of the night AND the following day!

Schnepf's

We ALWAYS go to the Princess Hotel for Christmas. But this year they only sold a certain amount of tickets to limit the crowds, so we weren't able to go. So instead, we went to Schnepf's. The kids wrote their Christmas letters to Santa, they visited Santa, they went through a giant inflatable obstacle course (multiple times), we fed Santa's reindeer, rode the Christmas train, and drank hot chocolate. The Christmas lights were beautiful!

Preschool Christmas Program

Alexis's preschool held their Christmas program just as usual, and I was glad for it. Also, Jane's dad got Covid, so the day before the program, Miss Jodi asked Alexis if she could play the role of Mary (instead of the angel), and she was okay with it. She looked adorable as Mary and she recited her line perfectly, "Do you have a room?" She smiled the entire time, loving the attention. And when it came to singing, she sang her little heart out, singing as loud as she could. She's my first child ever to do this (the other ones hide or barely move their lips). She knew both songs perfectly and I had a front row seat to see it.
