Grandpa & Grandma's visit

This past weekend, we were lucky to have grandpa and grandma visit us from Utah. And we got soooo spoiled! For 4 days!

Friday night: We ate at Chipotle, then we went to the Aladdin Circus. The show was awesome. During intermission, we asked the kids if they wanted to ride the elephant or the ponies. But nope, they wanted to ride the Ferris Wheel. Well, alright, then. Go ahead and miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It cost us $10 instead of $30 to ride the dang Ferris Wheel. On the bright side, I got to be Logan's first kiss on the Ferris Wheel. It was pretty magical :-)

Saturday: We went out to eat somewhere for lunch (bad memory, here), then at night we went to Dave and Buster's. The kids had a blast with all the games, especially the Pirates of the Caribbean one.

Sunday: We went to church. Then we went to Homestead Park to walk around, feed the ducks, and play on the playset.

Monday: Logan and Taylor went to school. While they were there, the rest of us went to La Chatelaine and had a very French breakfast. They even played French radio while we ate. I was a little nostalgic... Then we all picked up the boys at school. They were pretty psyched about all of us being there. Usually, it's just me and Kendall. How boring, right? For lunch, we went to Schmidt's. It's grandma's favorite buffet in Columbus. Of course German food is pretty unique. For me, I'd say it's home food, the way Mom cooked my whole life. Then grandma took me shopping for a few things. Like I said, we got spoiled.

Grandma bought Kendall's Easter dress. Doesn't she look so cute in it? Grandma also brought a ton of jell-o cups from the Asian store in Utah. The kids could eat 6-8 cups in one sitting. But the way Kendall liked it best was when grandma fed it to her.
When they drove off, Kendall cried. She was very sad to see them go. I have to admit I almost cried, too. We're sensitive, us, Beeston girls. When Kendall got herself back together, she said she missed grandma feeding her jell-o. That girl...!

Sports Ohio Field Trip

Hooray for field trips and discovering new fun places. For our Spring field trip, we went to Sports Ohio. The school was separated into classes and activities.
First, the kiddos played soccer. Logan did a really good job running after the ball. Taylor, eh, couldn't care less. I guess soccer's not his thing.
Second, they bowled (with soft balls). Bowling wasn't a huge hit for any of the kids. Perhaps it had something to do with two girls constantly moving the pins?!? Um, where was the mom in all this??? Oh, just talking with other moms and laughing at what her girls were up to. Haha. How hilarious?!?
Third, they went to the bouncy place. This was, by far, all the kiddos' favorite activity. In fact, my kids were the last to leave the place when it was time to switch.
Fourth, they played on some things that looked like skateboards, but you could sit on them and roll away. I don't know, I had never seen anything like it before.
And lastly, the kiddos went to a giant field where they ran around, chasing giant balls and lifting up a giant piece of fabric they could all hide under.
Overall, it was pretty fun. It did make me wish I could put the kids into sports, though... But residency is tough, financially, especially with the boys being in private school. When the time comes, in like a year and a half, I'm thinking Logan would do really well playing soccer. I could see Taylor playing T-ball. And Kendall would love just about anything, soccer, ballet, or gymnastics. Ahhh, soon enough. Soon enough.

And Kendall even got to join in on the fun.

St. Patrick's Day Selfies

Sometimes, the "idea" of taking pictures makes me feel exhausted. I mean, honestly, I have to take so many pictures, just to get ONE good picture (which makes me very grateful for digital cameras).
This is us, on St. Patrick's Day. After taking over literally 30 pictures, I thought, "Heck! Let's just have fun with it and be goofy."
Someday, I'm going to take a Photoshop class and figure out how to crop faces from different pictures to create THE perfect picture. Seriously.

Valentine's Day

I have to start off by saying that I don't really get how Valentine's Day has become this huge family and friends celebration. Didn't it start off as a celebration for couples? I think it's become all about business and selling a bunch of crap. Valentines, decorations, candy, blah blah blah. Crap is what it really is. And then if you don't get your kids this and that for Valentine's Day, then it must mean that you don't really love them. Right? Wrong. Whatever. With that said, I didn't want to be a total party pooper, so we did have a little fun with it.

Snow days in Ohio

Ugh. Snow. Honestly, without kids, I could live without it. However, with kids, it really is a lot of fun. They love sledding, building snowmen, making snow angels, and having snowball fights. I guess it makes Winter a little more bearable (when the temperatures aren't below the freezing point).
