Fall traditions #2 and #3: hayride and fall farm visit

So, it's Saturday and Billy is at work... So, what am I gonna go with 3 kids all day?... So, it's really nice out, and I feel like we should do something outdoors... So, let's get some stuff checked out of our bucket list... These last two years, we've been going to the same place, which is great and the kids absolutely love. But I've been hearing a lot of good things about Leeds Farm, so this year, we decided to get crayyyyy-zy and mix it up. Score! The kids loved it, too. Not sure which one they liked most, but they had a blast. Hay fun, hayrides, slides, bouncy place, farm animals, zip line, banana bus, corn box, this place almost had it all. The only thing missing, I think, was a corn maze. Too bad honey bunny missed it...

Barcelona

It's been a while since Billy and I went on a date this nice. Since we still don't know what we're doing or where we're going next year, we figured we should try out as many cool restaurants as we can. So we went to Barcelona and tried out some Spanish food. It was yummy, but I can't decide if Spanish food from Spain is actually better or if I just remember it being better (after all, it has been 15 years since my last trip there). Either way, it was great to spend some one-on-one time with my favorite hubby in the whole wide world.

Babysitting

The other day I watched a friend's kids so that she and her husband could go to an OSU football game. I would have to watch them from 8:30-3:30, so I decided to take them to the park to let some energy out. It was a little windy, but they didn't seem to care. We had to change out sitting arrangement in the car, though. It turned out to be a lot easier than I expected, and time went by really fast. Super mom alert! Hehe.

Fall tradition #1: apple picking

We have a fall bucket list; it hangs in the living room. One thing on there is apple picking, so this year, we timed it perfectly so that we could pick Billy's favorite apples, the honeycrisp apples. We ate and picked our money's worth, so much so that these apples were dinner that night. Oh, and Kendall found a baby apple and it was "soooo cuuuute."

First Day of School

Well, this is it. I guess Summer had to come to an end. The boys have been back in school for a few weeks now, and I am trying to catch up on my blog.

Logan started school one day before Taylor, and I thought Taylor would be very sad/confused when we dropped off Logan at school (the same school he went to last year), but he was actually fine. We had been talking a lot about his new school and visited it a couple of times, so I guess he knew and understood what was going on better than we thought.
Logan loves being in Pre-K and going to school every day. And it's great that his teacher is the same he had last year, Miss Julie. Logan also got himself a new girlfriend, whose name is Julia. This past week, I volunteered at the school to make tee-shirt pillows, and I met her. She is a cute, outgoing, friendly little girl, and I approve. Haha.
Taylor started the following day, and although I was planning on dropping him off at school on his first day, the bus pulled up and we spontaneously put him on it. He did great, being literally thrown into this new situation. He likes riding the bus, he loves his new teachers, Miss Victoria and Miss T, and he also got himself a girlfriend, Braylynn. I haven't met her, but she's the only kid from school Taylor talks about. The other night, Billy asked Taylor which school he liked most, and he said he liked his new school more. It was a huge relief, as I feel like I'm more clueless about this school than the last. Because he rides the bus in the morning, and I pick him up from the parking lot in the afternoon, I feel like I don't really know the school, his teachers, and his classmates. I just hope that we made the right decision in putting him into that school. I hope he is in a good environment and feels loved. He seems happy; tired after a long day at school, but happy.

Summer fun in August

The summer has come and gone. Some days went by fast and others reeeeaaaally slow. Columbus is a fun place for families, but even then, we ran out of fun things to do after a while.

Here we are at The Bunny Hill Splash Pads. I think we were there for 1 hour. It took us longer than that to get ready, drive there, use the bathroom, and eat a snack. Slow day, that day. Reeeeaaaally slow.

We went to Touch-a-Truck one Saturday when Daddy was on-call. It was really hot, but the kids did great. And they left me with no water. Ah, the things mommies sacrifice for their babies.

We saw a few movies at the park. This one was the Lego Movie. Kendall had to use the bathroom 3 times during the movie.

The Scioto Mile Splash Pads are always really busy, EXCEPT when school has already started. Best. Day. For. Water. Fun.

And then I took the kids, by myself, might I add, to Buck Creek. They had a blast and didn't want to leave. If I hadn't been so afraid that they'd get burned, and if I had brought more food, we would have stayed there all day. Instead, we spend a short 4 hours there. Still worth it.

Here we go... Another Summer has gone. Time for school.

Taekwondo

This summer, Logan and Taylor took a Taekwondo class. At first, they loved it. As the weeks went by, the excitement wore off a little. But I'd like to think they learned some good defense and offense skills. They both looked so cute in their little kimonos...
